both good tracks, are the songs royalty free/public domain tho?

That's summat that has to be considered when doing youtube stuff, putting up music we don't have rights to is a sure way to get a channel shut down!

Thanks Larry, mucho appreciated :)

I will be doing a vid shortly of Relaxii's TDM in Michaels house, and hopefully will be on for the fight night tonight

If anyone wants to evolve/use my ideas for their own channel I'm more than happy for that to happen btw :)

I use Sony Vegas Pro 11, haven't delved into after effects yet (tho I probably should!)

My editing ethos would be along the lines of 'less is more', so personally I would say that software comes down to what people feel most comfortable using. That may sound obvious, but what I'm trying to get at, is that software may offer a million bells and whistles, but most effective editing is that which the viewer doesn't even realise has taken place, there can be a tendency to want loads of fancy cuts/transitions, but there's a reason why the most used form in mainstream media is simple cuts.

It works :)

My advice to anyone starting is start simple, and tweak little fancy bits in when you're used to delivering a narrative.

damn that sounded pretentious lol

Also, this was a series i started but i never really worked on it to it's potential, maybe something like this could work? I'd do different things for presentation etc, but maybe a germ of an idea here?

Reading the above post regarding a theme song, i instantly pictured this:

- us, being serious, walking just like in the walking scene from Reservoir Dogs ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qBWc8FCEEM )
- seconds later, disk scratching sound, and from serious music it switches to Benny Hill type, while we start fooling around, doing stupid, crazy stuff :)

Something I did in one my videos was a bit similar, see what you think

Hey guys I'm new to the site, but I'm 'fairly' experienced at video editing with a smallish youtube channel, if anyone has any questions about basics/getting started I'd be happy to help :)
